Cinnamon and Apple Dessert with Protein

Kanel- og epledessert m/protein

I know that "healthier dessert" often sounds like a punishment disguised as pleasure. And yes, I could of course say "this one is different" like everyone who writes the former, but this recipe is one of the best things I know. This is a type of dessert that doesn't leave you feeling chocolate cake-heavy afterwards. I'm not going to spend time convincing anyone, just sharing this gift with you if you're willing to receive it.

What you need:

  • 4–5 Pink Lady apples

  • a little butter

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • juice from 1/2 a lemon

  • Low-fat quark with vanilla or passion fruit flavor (lactose-free, of course)

How to make it:

Peel and dice the apples. Gently fry them in a little butter with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Keep the heat even so that the apples become slightly soft and golden without burning. Place quark at the bottom of glasses or bowls, top with the apples, and chill so the flavors can set before serving.
